Daily or weekly? Choosing a weigh-in rhythm that feels calm
There is no single right answer. Here is how to choose a weighing rhythm that suits you.
How often should you weigh yourself? The honest answer: as often as helps you, and no more.
Daily
Good for: people who like data, and anyone using a trend line. More weigh-ins make the trend smoother and quicker to show change.
Watch out for: reacting to single days. If you weigh daily, consider Trend only mode so you see the direction without the daily number.
Three times a week
Good for: most people. It gives the trend enough data without making the scale a daily event. Evenly suggests Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Weekly
Good for: people who find numbers stressful, or who want a lighter routine.
Watch out for: one weekly reading can be thrown off by a single salty dinner or a late night. Keep the same day and time, and expect the trend to take longer to settle.
Whenever you like
Some people weigh in only when they feel like it. That is fine too. Evenly will never send "you missed a day" or keep streaks.
Make any rhythm fairer
- Same time of day, ideally morning.
- After the bathroom, before eating or drinking.
- Same clothes, same spot on a hard floor.
Change your mind any time
In Evenly, go to Settings → Notifications to change your reminder days or turn reminders off. You can also change your display mode in one tap on the Today screen.
A note on wellbeing
If you notice that weighing makes your day better or worse depending on the number, that is a sign to weigh less often, switch to Hidden mode, or take a break. Your health is more than a number.
