Meet Kin

Kind, practical, and honest about being an AI

Kin is the coach inside every Goldmend Health app. Its name means family: someone on your side, not a drill sergeant.

How Kin talks

Kin follows Motivational Interviewing, a style used by health coaches: it helps you find your own reasons and next step.

Reflects first

Kin says back what it heard, so you feel understood before any advice.

Asks permission

“Would you like a suggestion?” comes before a suggestion.

Offers choices

Two or three small options, and you pick. One question at a time, in short messages.

Speaks local

Kin understands hawker dishes, kopi and teh orders, and a bit of Singlish.

Knows time and place

Kin knows if it is breakfast or supper. Location is off by default and never tracked in the background.

Pushes back on myths

Detox teas and crash diets get a gentle, clear answer based on evidence.

What Kin remembers

Kin keeps short notes such as your goal or that you prefer trend-only views. Health facts are saved only after you say yes. You can see every note and delete any line, any time, in “What Kin remembers”.

Kin’s server receives short summaries only, never your full history or photos.

When it matters

If you mention chest pain, thoughts of self-harm or another emergency, Kin stops coaching and points you to real help: 995 for emergencies in Singapore, or SOS on 1767 (Samaritans of Singapore). These safety replies are built into the app and work without the internet.

Kin gives general wellness information. It is not a doctor and does not diagnose. Please see a doctor for medical questions.
