Set a range, not a target
Why a two-kilogram range is kinder and more realistic than one perfect number.
Most weight apps ask for one goal weight. Evenly asks for a range.
One number sets you up to fail
Because daily weight moves by hundreds of grams, even someone sitting exactly at their goal will be "over" it on many mornings. A single target turns normal wobble into a constant sense of falling short.
A range fits real life
A range of about two kilograms leaves room for salty dinners, festive weeks and your cycle. Being anywhere inside it counts as success. In Evenly, your range appears as a soft band behind your trend line.
Choosing your range
- If your goal is to stay steady, centre the range on your current trend.
- If your goal is to lose gently, set a range a little below your trend and let the line drift towards it over months.
- If you are building strength, keep a wider range: weight may stay flat while your shape changes.
Safety built in
Evenly will not help you aim for a range below what is usually a healthy weight for your height. If you try, we pause, explain, and suggest talking to a doctor or dietitian. If a professional has advised a specific range, you can track with them using Hidden mode and a sharing code.
Change it whenever life changes
Pregnancy, illness, new medicine or a new training plan are good reasons to revisit your range. Add a new start marker in Trend so the old line does not blur the new one.
